Effectiveness of Isopropyl Alcohol
According to a pair of reports undertaken by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), wipes with a concentration of isopropyl alcohol of at least 70% are successful at disinfecting surfaces in controlled environments. Additionally, USP chapter 797 titled “Pharmaceutical Compounding – Sterile Preparations” states that “floors, walls, ceilings, shelving, hard surfaces, contaminated gloves, and supplies removed from shipping cartons are to be wiped with 70% Sterile Isopropyl Alcohol.”
